It all began in 2001 when we started our family and made a decision to use cloth nappies based on environmental issues. As we researched this we found there was very little information available locally and felt that by promoting washable nappies to other mums in North Devon we could help them make an informed choice.

I started to talk about real nappies at a few antenatal classes (just because I love to talk and loved my nappies!!) and soon realised that there was a lack of availability for washable nappies locally. I have continued to promote cloth nappies over the last six years through Bummdiddy Baby and also the Tarka Real Nappy Network (TRNN is a local voluntary group of mums and has recently become the North Devon Branch of the Women’s Environmental Network).

During 2001 – 2002 my daughter began to develop skin irritation to conventional creams and skin care products and also an allergy to petroleum and so we began to look for more natural options to use. As our range of products has grown so has the size of our original company and in 2006 we decided to start a sister company Natural-E Co.

Natural-E Co is all about your home, family and friends and we aim to provide a range of products that are natural, organic, recycled or fair trade and if possible meet all of these. Most of our products are either manufactured in the UK or produced in a fair trade manner there by reducing carbon emissions or, providing fair wages for disadvantaged producers and supporting the developing world.
